The Membership Committee's mission is to attract, welcome, and integrate new members, and help engage all members through multiple avenues. In alignment with Judea Reform's priorities, this Committee will prioritize, support, uplift member relationships, retention, and engagement. Additionally, the Committee supports staff-driven strategic initiatives. We want to connect people to the synagogue and each other. Shalom Squad
Join our welcome team, The Shalom Squad! In order to create a welcoming environment for all congregants and visitors, we keep a rotating team of greeters signed up for services and events. This easy commitment allows you to volunteer when you are able whether that is once a month, once a week, or even once a year. We are always looking for new members of our squad. Reach out to Barbara Gittleman, Committee Chair, if you would like to learn more or be added to the list!
New Member Welcome
Once a year our Committee welcomes new members at a Community Shabbat Service and Luncheon. New members from the past year are called to the bimah for a blessing and are given a welcome gift bag. Board members and committee leaders always join the luncheon to get to know our newest congregants and help them make connections. We are stronger as our community grows!
Summerfest
At the end of August and before the start of local schools, we throw a big welcome back gathering for the whole congregation. This easy-going event provides food and a fun dessert for the whole family, games for kids, information about fall events, and time to reconnect with your Judea Reform community.
