Anshei Mitzvah
A Unique Learning Opportunity
"Anshei Mitzvah," which translates to "people of the commandment," refers to an adult Jewish education program. At Judea Reform Congregation our Anshei Mitzvah program prepares our congregants for an adult B' Mitzvah. Our Anshei Mitzvah program began in 1981 and has brought meaning and connection for many years.
Jewish tradition encourages us to interpret the giving of the commandments at Sinai as if we, too, were standing there. This covenant between God and God’s people is more than an inherited legacy; it is a direct, personal pact between each Jew and God.
Undertaking the Anshei Mitzvah experience is a way of living and demonstrating this unique relationship. This adult B'Mitzvah experience will engage you in a variety of Jewish learning opportunities designed to provide a fundamental grounding in Jewish tradition and practice.
This program is offered periodically and is a nine-month long experience. If you are an adult in our congregation who never went through the B'Mitzvah ritual as a young person and are interested now, this class is for you.
We are planning to hold an Anshei Mitzvah class starting sometime in 2025/26. More information to come.
